1. What is Yoga?

Yoga is an ancient Indian Philosophy that helps a person realize his soul and real self through sequential and rigorous physical, emotional and spiritual practices. Yoga classes in Rishikesh connect a person to his soul and remove all the karmic blockages preventing the person from living his true inner self. Yoga purifies the mind, body and soul, and rejuvenates at physical, emotional as well as spiritual level. Yoga is essentially a spiritual practice, but it also goes a long way in improving the person’s physical health and fitness.

2. Why should I learn Yoga classes in Rishikesh?

Yoga is not a luxury, but a necessity for your body, mind as well as the soul. In today’s modern world which is chasing material wealth and comforts, we spend almost lost touch with our reality, and think that we are only our physical body. Yoga science says that inside our physical body, there is a spiritual body or soul or Purusha or Brahma. To lead a blissful existence free of pains, sorrows and vicissitudes of life, it is crucial to real our essential nature, else we get immersed in the vicious circle of happiness and sorrow defined by our physical reality.

3. What is the suitable time for Yoga?

Early morning before sunset is considered to be the perfect time to practice Yoga. Yoga can be done in the evening after lunch having a break of 4 hours. In the evening you can have tea or juice 30 minutes before starting yoga. Yoga can also be done anytime but with the empty stomach.

4. What are the benefits of Yoga?

Yoga essentially brings you closer to your inner self and it removes your attachment to the physical reality surrounding your soul. Hence, it is the path towards liberation or self-actualization. Once we attain that state, we reach a state of perfect bliss, pure consciousness devoid of ego, attachments, desires etc. Yoga not only has immense spiritual and emotional benefits, but it improves our physical health as well. Through asanas, Yoga also vastly improves our physical fitness.

5. Any age limit for doing Yoga?

There is no upper or lower age limit for learning or practising Yoga. But of course, if you are physically ill, and too little to practice complex Asanas, then it is advisable not to try too hard.

6. Can Yoga heal me from mental illnesses?

100%. Essentially, there is nothing called a ‘mental illness’. Mental illness is only a construct created by western scientists. Indian philosophers never called sadness or anxiety as physical problems. Depression is called ‘Vairagya’. And philosophical questions like, ‘who am I, why am I here’, are called BrahmaJigyasa. In Indian philosophy, anxiety, depression, psychosis, neurosis etc are all signs of spiritual awakening and a war cry for spiritual help. In fact, spiritual awakening is considered to be a blessing in the Indian system. So, In India, if you feel depressed, you are lucky as you can now get closer to God or self-realization.

7. What are the do’s and don’ts of Yoga classes in Rishikesh?

You must attend all the sessions regularly. Do not learn half-heartedly. The place must be spacious, cross-ventilated with no pollution. It should be warm and should have no bright lights. Ideally, you must practice Asanas on a carpet, mat, towel and carry a bottle of water. As per the ancient times, one should face either east or north during Asanas. There should be absolutely no disturbance, and phone, doorbells, TV must be switched off. Also, wear loose clothes only.

8. How long should I practice Asanas?

A daily practice of 30 minutes to 1 hour is enough for practising Asanas. But meditation can be practised for long periods of time as per your convenience.

9. What will be the strength of the classes?

There might be approx 15-20 students per class.

10. How many subjects are covered in the course?

The course will consist of both theories as well as practical aspects of Yoga. At the end of the course, you will gain enough proficiency to practice Yoga yourself.

11. Will I get a Certification at the end of the course?

Yes. You will receive a certification after the course recognized all over the world. Henceforth, you will be able to practice as a Certified Yoga Teacher.

17. Will I get accommodation?

The course fee includes accommodation as well as daily meals and modern facilities like WI-fi, A.C, water heater etc.

18. Will I get food also?

Of Course, you get two times daily meals, as a part of the package. The food is sattvic made of organic fresh vegetables and devoid of processed or canned foods.

19. What about yoga Fee payment?

You may make the payment online via credit/debit or net banking.

20. How can I come to yoga school by myself?

Rishikesh is well connected by Road, rail or air. You may take either of the following routes:

  • Air – Nearest international airport Delhi, nearest domestic airport Jolly Grant Dehradun.
  • Rail – Delhi – Haridwar. From Haridwar, Rishikesh is accessible by tourist Taxi, Bus or Auto rickshaws.
  • Bus – ISBT (Kashmiri Gate Delhi) Govt. Bus or Private Taxi, Bus
